Mercuria Energy signed a memorandum of understanding with Motor Oil Hellas to support long-term cooperation on Greece's Dioriga Gas Floating Storage and Regasification Unit project, the company said Monday.
Motor Oil Hellas is developing the Dioriga Gas FSRU through its subsidiary, Dioriga Gas, in Greece's Saronic Gulf, where the companies said the terminal is Greece's most advanced FSRU project.
Under the memorandum of understanding, Mercuria and Motor Oil Hellas will cooperate on terminal capacity, long-term liquefied natural gas supply and preparations for commercial operations at the Dioriga Gas FSRU.
Mercuria said the project will strengthen Europe's energy security by expanding reliable liquefied natural gas imports and boosting Greece's role as a key entry point for Southeast Europe.
