Meiji Holdings Co (TYO:2269) recorded a 51.3% surge in attributable profit for the fiscal first quarter ended June 30 to 15.3 billion yen from 10.1 billion yen during the year-ago period, a Wednesday filing on the Japan bourse said.
Basic earnings per share climbed to 56.33 yen from 37.27 yen in the corresponding period of the last fiscal year.
The confectionery company's net sales in fiscal Q1 rose 5.8% to 289.4 billion yen from 273.6 billion yen a year prior.
For the fiscal first half ending Sept. 30, the company expects attributable profit of 27.5 billion yen, profit per share of 101.46 yen and net sales of 594.5 billion yen. For the fiscal full year ending March 31, 2027, the company expects attributable profit of 62.5 billion yen, profit per share of 230.61 yen and net sales of 1.212 trillion yen.
The company expects to pay interim and full year dividends of 55 yen per share each.
