MediaTek Arm Commits Investments of Up To $100 Million in Two Funds; Shares Jump 10%

MediaTek (TPE:2454)'s wholly-owned subsidiary, Digimoc Holdings, has committed to acquiring an investment stake in the private equity fund Achi Capital Partners Global Fund II with a maximum capital cap of $70 million, according to a Friday filing to the Taiwan stock exchange.

Mediatek's shares were up 10% in Monday's trade.

In a separate filing, MediaTek said Digimoc has also committed to invest up to $30 million in Zhongfang Capital Partners Asia Opportunities Fund II.

The ratio of Digimoc's shareholding in Achi Capital and Zhongfang Capital will be based on the closing fund size, the company said.

MediaTek's Consolidated Net Income Falls 12% in Q2

MediaTek's (TPE:2454) consolidated net income in the second quarter fell 12% year on year to NT$24.6 billion.Earnings per share in the quarter ended June 30 slipped to NT$15.28 from NT$17.50 a year earlier, according to a Friday filing.Revenue of the chip supplier in Q2 climbed 1.2% year over year to NT$152.2 billion.The company expects to post a consolidated revenue of around NT$152.2 billion to 159.8 billion in the third quarter.

Xinyi Glass' Profit Climbs 17% in H1

Xinyi Glass (HKG:0868) recorded a 17% rise in attributable profit to 1.19 billion yuan for the first half of 2026 from 1.01 billion yuan a year prior.Earnings per share rose to 0.2672 yuan from 0.2325 previously, according to a Friday Hong Kong bourse filing.Revenue declined 3.1% to 9.52 billion yuan from 9.82 billion yuan in the year-ago period, mainly due to a drop in the average selling prices of float glass products.The glass manufacturing company declared an interim dividend of HK$0.15 per share for the period, payable on or around Sept. 30 to shareholders of record as of Aug. 19.
