Matsa Resources Receives AU$10 Million Deposit From AngloGold Ashanti for Lake Carey Tenements

Matsa Resources (ASX:MAT) received a AU$10 million deposit from AngloGold Ashanti Australia under a revised tenement option agreement, under which AngloGold Ashanti exercised its option early to acquire specific tenements of Matsa's Lake Carey Gold Project in Western Australia, according to a Friday Australian bourse filing.

The company said ministerial consent has been received, satisfying a significant condition precedent, with further conditions now to be met.

The balance of AU$45 million is payable at completion, scheduled for 15 business days following satisfaction of the final completion conditions, which include obtaining a limited number of third-party consents, including the assignment of contractual access rights linked to the sale assets, the filing added.

China, US Reach New Agreement, Agree to Extend Trade Truce Through January 2027

China and the U.S. reached a new joint arrangement following a fresh round of consultations between their trade teams, according to a readout by the Chinese Foreign Ministry released Friday.The arrangement comes after both countries agreed to extend their trade truce for another two months through January 10, 2027, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said in an interview on Fox News Thursday, a day after Chinese President Xi Jinping arrived in Washington.The original deal was supposed to expire Nov. 10, and the extension would give time for both countries to work on a bigger deal, Bessent said.Both Beijing and Washington could ensure a more stable trade relationship if they expand the list of areas for cooperation and shorten their list of issues, the ministry said.
