ZTE (HKG:0763, SHE:000063) and two other Chinese firms have secured U.S. approval to buy AI chips from Nvidia and AMD, Reuters News reported Wednesday, citing documents and two sources familiar with the matter.
The companies permitted by Washington to buy chips are ZTE Kangxun Telecom, server maker Maginfra, and Kingsoft (HKG:3888) unit Zhuhai Hengqin Yunxiang Zhisheng Network Technology, according to the report.
ZTE, Maginfra, Kingsoft, Nvidia, and AMD did not immediately respond to' requests for comment.
