Skoda Auto Volkswagen India plans to cut about 12% of its workforce as it accelerates a restructuring program aimed at cutting costs ahead of its next investment cycle, Bloomberg reported Friday, citing people familiar with the matter.
The three-year restructuring, which began in 2025, is expected to remove a few hundred white-collar and factory jobs and generate tens of millions of dollars in savings by 2027, the report noted. The program is separate from Volkswagen's broader global restructuring, it added.
The company did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
