Volkswagen expects to finalize a partnership with a local company in India this year as it seeks to expand its presence in the market, Reuters reported Wednesday, citing Skoda brand's chief executive officer, Klaus Zellmer.
Skoda, which oversees Volkswagen's India strategy, is reportedly in talks with an unnamed potential partner. The group is open to giving up control of its India operations as part of a partnership, Reuters quoted Zellmer as saying.
Volkswagen has been seeking a local partner since 2022 and is in talks with JSW Group on a potential joint venture, the report noted.
