A string of agreements between the US and Vietnamese companies spanning energy, technology, aviation and financial sectors are expected to be disclosed next week as Vietnam's leader, To Lam travels to New York, Reuters reported Wednesday, citing officials and internal documents.
Based on an internal planning note, as reported by Reuters, 29 agreements could be unveiled on Sept. 23 at a business conference, with many commercial agreements to be non-binding as part of the Southeast Asian state's aim to address trade tensions with Washington.
Oil and gas companies, Murphy Oil and Chevron are slated to sign deals with state-owned Petrovietnam, while ExxonMobil is expected to sign an accord with Vietnam Refinery and Petrochemical Corporation, the report said.
Additionally, Vietjet could lease as many as 22 planes from four aviation leasing companies headquartered in the US, the report added.
Chevron, Murphy Oil, ExxonMobil, VietJet and Petrovietnam Vietnam Refinery and Petrochemical did not immediately respond to a request for comment from.
