A trade deal currently under discussion between the US and Canada would generally halve US tariffs on imports of steel and aluminum, which currently face a 50% rate, Bloomberg reported Wednesday, citing people familiar with the matter.
Details have not been finalized, and different rates could apply to some derivative products containing the metals, the report said, citing some of the people.
The White House didn't immediately reply to a request for comment from.
