Market Chatter: US Moves to Support Musk in Challenge to EU Fine on X

By

The US government is seeking to support Elon Musk's legal challenge against a 120 million euro ($136.5 million) European Union fine imposed on social media platform X for alleged violations of the bloc's online rules, Bloomberg reported Thursday.

The Trump administration filed an application with the EU's General Court backing X's effort to overturn the European Commission's December 2025 decision. The Commission said the fine stemmed from alleged violations of transparency requirements under the Digital Services Act, including the design of X's blue-check verification program.

X and the European Union didn't immediately respond to' requests for comment.
