US Special Envoy for Syria and Iraq Thomas Barrack held discussions with Iraqi and Syrian officials and companies, including Chevron (CVX), on restoring the long-idled Kirkuk-Baniyas pipeline. Bloomberg said a State Department official confirmed US support for rehabilitating the pipeline, with American firms expected to participate.

US President Donald Trump also said Tuesday that new US-Iraq oil partnership announcements are expected within the next week, following a meeting with Iraqi Prime Minister Ali Al-Zaidi at the White House.
