Ukraine resumed strikes on Russian energy infrastructure after a three-day ceasefire ended, with Russia saying it destroyed 286 drones overnight on Wednesday, Reuters reported Wednesday.
Fighting resumed two days after a temporary ceasefire proposed by US President Donald Trump expired.
Kyiv renewed attacks on Russian oil refineries, ports, and fuel facilities as it seeks to reduce Moscow's energy revenue and weaken military operations during the war.
The defense ministry said Russian air defense systems intercepted and destroyed 286 Ukrainian drones across several Russian regions overnight, according to the report.
Drone debris ignited a fire near an industrial site in Volna village in Krasnodar, where Taman port handles oil products and other cargo shipments, the report added, citing regional authorities.
Another Ukrainian drone strike caused a fire at a gas processing plant in Russia's Astrakhan region that also produces fuel, local officials said Wednesday.
Astrakhan Governor Igor Babushkin said Russian forces neutralized all incoming drones near the Caspian Sea facility using air defense and electronic warfare systems.
The facility is located about 1,675 kilometers from Ukraine's border, while authorities reported no injuries from the attack, according to the report.
Russia's Ministry of Defense didn't immediately respond to' request for comment.
