Abu Dhabi National Oil Co., d/b/a Adnoc, has been offering to transport Iraqi crude through the Strait of Hormuz via a so-called dark-transit shuttling method, Bloomberg News reported Wednesday, citing people familiar with the matter.
The method involves vessels making short trips with their transponders turned off to transport oil outside the Persian Gulf to other ships, according to the report. The Emirati oil giant has provided spot cargos to Asian buyers of crude from other Middle Eastern producers, the news outlet noted.
