Market Chatter: Toyota to Launch Extended-Range EV Production in China by 2027

Toyota Motor (TYO:7203) will begin producing extended-range electric vehicles in China in April 2027, marking its first entry into extended-range EVs in the world's largest EV market, Nikkei Asia reported Sunday.

The automaker plans to produce "several hundred" vehicles a month initially, with output targeted at about 200,000 units in 2027 and around 400,000 units in 2028, the report said.

Toyota Motor did not immediately respond to' request for comment.
