As the demand for office space strengthens in Japan, the commercial land prices in Tokyo have reached their highest level in 33 years in 2026, Nikkei Asia reported Wednesday, citing government data.
Average commercial land prices in Tokyo rose 11.4%, marking the fifth consecutive year of increase, from a year earlier to over 3 million yen per square meter.
Tokyo stood alone among Japan's 47 prefectures to record a double-digit growth in commercial land values, the report said.
