Short video platform TikTok reached a settlement in an addiction lawsuit involving a 15-year-old teenager in Florida, according to NBC News on Wednesday, citing a lawyer for the plaintiff.
The teenager, only named in court filings as R.K.C., accused the social media platform, along with Meta, Google's YouTube and Snap, of having addictive platform designs through autoplay and scrolling, the report said.
YouTube settled with the teen last week, while Meta and Snap are expected to stand in trial at the Los Angeles County Superior Court, which will start July 27, according to the media outlet.
TikTok, YouTube, Meta and Snap did not respond to' request for comment yet.
