Thailand's electricity consumption is expected to grow by 5.3% in 2026, the highest in the past nine years, Bloomberg News reported on Friday, citing the Energy Policy and Planning Office.
The growth is backed by industrial activity amid a global AI boom and data center investment, the report said.
The country's energy consumption was up 6% in the first half, with electronics manufacturing leading the rally, closely followed by auto production, the report added.
The International Monetary Fund expects the country to benefit from the currency technology boom through its electronics exports, the report noted.
