Thai state-owned petroleum company PTT is considering investing and engaging in a long-term supply agreement with US liquefied natural gas exporters, including Woodside Energy (WDS) for its Louisiana LNG facility, Bloomberg reported Tuesday, citing people familiar with the matter.
The move is aimed at strengthening energy security, particularly after supply disruptions caused by the US-Iran war, the report said.
PTT told the news agency that it is also exploring opportunities in other regions, aside from the US, to expand its LNG business.
PTT and Woodside Energy did not immediately respond to' request for comment.
