Tata Trusts Chairman Noel Tata has proposed restructuring Tata Sons, including potentially splitting the holding company into several entities, The Economic Times reported, citing people familiar with the matter.

The proposal was made at a Tata Sons board meeting on Sept. 17, according to the report.

It was not immediately clear whether the Tata Sons board would consider the proposal, the report added.
