Tajikistan's energy minister said the country holds about 60 days of fuel reserves and is negotiating future supplies with neighboring countries as fuel shortages hit key trade partner Russia, RFE/RL reported Friday, citing Energy Minister Daler Juma.
Juma said Tajikistan continues to receive Russian petroleum products under an intergovernmental agreement despite logistical challenges while expanding supply talks with Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Iran, Iraq and Belarus, according to the report.
Tajikistan relies heavily on Russian fuel imports, but Ukrainian drone strikes on several Russian refineries, including Omsk, have disrupted supplies in recent weeks, the report said.
Tajikistan's Ministry of Energy and Water Resources did not immediately reply to' request for comment.
