Taiwan is seeing severe bottlenecks in its technology sector as China deliberately delays shipments of aerospace and optical materials to the island, Nikkei Asia reported Thursday.
Since 2025, exports of germanium and quartz have faced prolonged customs scrutiny, according to the report. Chipmakers have experienced months-long lead times with no alternative suppliers and aerospace companies also face neodymium magnet disruptions.
China's General Administration of Customs was not immediately available for comment.
