Taiwanese authorities raided Super Micro Computer's Taiwan office on Monday, expanding an investigation into the alleged smuggling of Nvidia AI chips to China through the company's servers, Bloomberg News reported Tuesday.
According to the news outlet, prosecutors searched three companies and the homes of six individuals, while Super Micro said it is cooperating with the investigation. The probe follows arrests in May over allegedly falsified export documents involving Super Micro servers carrying Nvidia AI chips.
Authorities also searched data center operator Chief Telecom and distributor Albatron Technology, which said the search had no impact on its operations, the report said.
Super Micro Computer did not immediately respond to' request for a comment.
