Hyundai Motor and Kia reported double-digit growth in India's passenger vehicle market during the first five months of 2026, supported by strong demand for sport utility vehicles, South Korea's Yonhap News Agency reported on Sunday, citing data from the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM).
Hyundai sold 266,317 passenger vehicles between January and May, an increase of 10.1% year on year, while Kia's sales rose 14.6% over the same period.
Combined sales of the two automakers reached 405,514 units, up 11.6% year on year. Popular SUV models, including Hyundai's Creta and Venue and Kia's Seltos and Sonet, accounted for a major share of deliveries.
