Market Chatter: Sun PhuQuoc Airways Plans to Expand Operations in Thailand, Increase Fleet

By

Vietnamese airline Sun PhuQuoc Airways aims to expand its operations in Thailand as it plans to begin daily flights between Bangkok and Phu Quoc next month, according to a Bangkok Post report on Tuesday, quoting La Vinh Nam, the company's deputy director of sales.

He said the opportunity is not restricted to Thai travellers visiting Phu Quoc, but also international passengers connecting through Bangkok from markets such as India, the Middle East, Europe and Southeast Asia.

This would be the airline's sixth international destination since its launch last year, after Taipei, Seoul, Hong Kong, Singapore and Chengdu.

Sun PhuQuoc Airways also plans to expand its fleet and operate 28 narrow-body aircraft and four Airbus A330 widebody jets by the end of this year, which will be deployed on long-haul routes including Russia and Kazakhstan, the report said.
