Sony Group (TYO:6758) mulls launching an in-car artificial intelligence agent featuring an original character for in-vehicle entertainment in early 2027 as autonomous driving speeds up, Nikkei reported Tuesday.

The company has unveiled a rabbit-sheep character, Wichef, displayed on an in-car screen and designed for AI applications featuring navigation assistance, casual conversation, and brainstorming support, the report said.

The technology can be integrated into rental cars, buses, and trains through a smartphone app for personalized support, according to the report.
