Solar panel manufacturers CSI Solar (SHA:688472) parent Canadian Solar, SEG Solar, and Heliene are calling on the U.S. Commerce Department to probe solar cell imports from South Korea on allegations they are being used to skirt tariffs on China-made products, Reuters reported Monday, citing a petition seen by the newswire.
The three companies say companies such as Hanwha's (KRX:000880) QCells transferred operations to South Korea from China to evade U.S. tariffs, the report said.
Canadian Solar, SEG Solar, Heliene, Hanwha, and the U.S. Commerce Department did not immediately respond to requests for comment from.
