Market Chatter: SoftBank Group Secures 21 Additional Lenders for $40 Billion OpenAI Bridge Loan

SoftBank Group (TYO:9984) secured 21 additional lenders for its $40 billion bridge loan facility for investment in the U.S.-based artificial intelligence company OpenAI, Bloomberg News reported Monday, citing people familiar with the matter.

About $7 billion of the facility was assigned to the new lenders, including First Abu Dhabi Bank, GIC, and Standard Chartered Bank, which took a nearly $1 billion loan share each through syndication, the report said, citing the sources.

The remaining $33 billion, held by the underwriters and senior lenders, could also be syndicated further, Bloomberg reported.

SoftBank Group did not immediately respond to a request for comment from.

Infoline Tec Group Seeks Shareholder Nod to Acquire Buildings for New Head Office

Infoline Tec Group (KLSE:INFOTEC) is seeking shareholders' approval for its wholly-owned subsidiary, Infoline IT Solutions, to acquire two adjoining intermediate units from Huayi (SEA) and Orionis Technology, respectively, for a total of 18.6 Malaysian ringgit, according to a Monday filing to Bursa Malaysia.The investor approval will be sought at the upcoming extraordinary general meeting on Aug. 28.The company's shares were down nearly 6% in recent trade.The acquired units will be used to set up the company's new head office.
