SoftBank Group (TYO:9984) secured a two-year loan facility amounting to $11.9 billion last week, Bloomberg News reported Monday, citing people with knowledge of the matter.
The Japanese tech giant will use the loan, which was originally planned at $10 billion, to finance its investment in U.S.-based AI company OpenAI, according to the report.
Nearly 20 banks extended commitments to the facility, the report cited its sources as saying.
SoftBank Group did not immediately respond to' request for comment.
