SK hynix (KRX:000660) is attracting criticism over its decision to list unit Solidigm on the Nasdaq exchange amid fears of diminishing shareholder value, The Korea Times reported, citing industry officials.
The move would result in an "unprecedented five-tier multiple-listing structure," according to Korean Corporate Governance Forum Chair Rhee Nam-uh.
The ownership structure extends from SK Group's Chairman Chey Tae-won through SK Inc., SK Square, SK hynix, and SK hynix NAND Product Solutions Corp. to Solidigm, Rhee said.
The company is said to be eyeing between 5 trillion won and 10 trillion won in pre-IPO funds from the listing, the Korea Times reported.
SK hynix did not immediately respond to' request for a comment.
