SK Hynix (KRX:000660) is considering whether to bring in an investor for its Chongqing, China, plant to boost growth, and is currently in talks with several prospective advisers such as Chinese funds and key industry players to review the business, Bloomberg News reported Friday, citing people with knowledge of the matter.

The facility may be valued at $3 billion, the people told the news agency. The South Korean chipmaker may keep a minority stake in the plant, the report said, citing the sources.

Deliberations are ongoing and may not result in any transactions, according to the report.

SK Hynix did not immediately respond to' request for comment.

Shares of SK Hynix added nearly 2% in recent trade.
