Market Chatter: Singapore Airlines Expands Operational Involvement in Loss-Making Air India

-- Singapore Airlines (SGX:C6L) has decided to increase its operational involvement in Air India, as the Indian carrier navigates a difficult journey, followed by record losses and safety concerns, according to a report by Bloomberg on Thursday.

Citing people familiar with the matter on the condition of anonymity, the report revealed that the company has moved some of its employees into Air India and placed them in key decision-making positions.

Meanwhile, Tata Group, which has a 74.9% stake in Air India, is honed in one other key functions, the report added.

HSBC to Fully Redeem, Delist Two Bond Series Ahead of Maturity

HSBC Holdings (HKG:0005) plans to redeem and cancel the listing of all outstanding bonds under two issued series in June ahead of their 2027 maturity, according to a Thursday Hong Kong bourse filing.The lender will redeem outstanding bonds under a HK$1.5 billion issue of 1.55% bonds on June 3 and a 2 billion euro issue of 3.019% fixed- to floating-rate bonds on June 15.The bonds are expected to be delisted on June 4 and June 16, respectively.
