Shein Executive Chairman Donald Tang is set to step down as the fast-fashion retailer nears its planned Hong Kong initial public offering, Reuters reported Monday, citing three people with direct knowledge of the matter.
Tang has served as Shein's executive chairman for about three years and has been the company's public face while founder and Chief Executive Sky Xu remained largely behind the scenes, the report said.
Xu will assume the role of chairman and lead the investor roadshow ahead of the Hong Kong listing, Reuters said.
Tang is reportedly expected to stay on as a senior adviser and continue supporting the management team during the transition. No timetable has been set for his departure.
Shein did not immediately respond to' request for comment.
