Russia is considering purchases of about 50,000 metric tons of AI-92 gasoline from Kazakhstan as fuel availability comes under pressure after a series of refinery setbacks, Reuters reported Wednesday, citing four industry sources.
Ukrainian drone attacks, coupled with outages and unexpected repair work at several major refineries, have reduced Russia's gasoline production, prompting officials to seek additional supplies from Kazakhstan, according to the report.
The Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan did not immediately reply to' request for comment.
