Paramount Skydance (PSKY) is considering asking Elon Musk to join a syndicate of equity investors in the media company as its acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) progresses, Semafor reported Wednesday, citing people familiar with the matter.

Paramount CEO David Ellison's father, Larry Ellison, has long been close with Musk, the report said.

Paramount and Musk did not immediately respond to requests for comment from.

Spire Global (SPIR) won a $33.2 million contract from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration to deliver global navigation satellite system radio occultation data to enhance weather forecasting.The data will feed NOAA's prediction models and support weather forecasting, space weather applications, and research by scientific organizations, Spire said Tuesday in a statement.The two-year contract, which starts Dec. 1, includes additional unfunded surge-buy options that may raise the total value to $66 million if fully exercised, the company said.Spire shares rose 2.2% in after-hours trading.
