Britain may need to impose tariffs on Chinese cars if it wants equal treatment under the European Union's local-content rules, Bloomberg News reported Thursday, citing a senior Nissan Motor (TYO:7201) executive, Massimiliano Messina.
Messina said that the EU could pressure Britain to introduce levies to prevent Chinese vehicles, which account for a fifth of sales, from entering Europe through the UK.
