NexGen Energy (NXE) is sharing information and holding talks with BHP Group (BHP) about its Rook I mining project in Saskatchewan, as it seeks to raise $1 billion in capital over the next nine months, Reuters reported Monday, citing NexGen CEO Leigh Curyer.
In response to questions about a potential equity partnership with BHP, Curyer said BHP has acquired substantial land near the Rook project in the Athabasca basin, according to the report.
NexGen Energy and BHP Group did not immediately respond to' requests for comment.
