National Australia Bank (ASX:NAB) is in a renewed push for a possible purchase of HSBC's Australian deposit portfolio, The Australian's DataRoom reported Thursday, citing anonymous sources.

The Australian lender is believed to have submitted a bid for HSBC's deposit book last year and both parties are currently doing due diligence, the report added.
