Market Chatter: MUFG Bank Partners with JAXA to Bridge Public-Private Space Collaboration

Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group's (TYO:8306) unit MUFG Bank will work with Japan's space agency JAXA on human spaceflight research, aiming to connect public and private sectors while seeking investment opportunities, Nikkei Asia reported on Friday.

The bank has formed a rare specialized space team of aerospace engineers and satellite data experts, and already holds satellite-based collateral valuation patents plus stakes in nearly 10 space companies, including lunar startup ispace, the news daily said.

Using overseas case studies and its large corporate client network, MUFG hopes to pinpoint Japan's technology gaps and speed up JAXA's private-sector partnerships, the publication said.

MUFG and JAXA did not immediately respond to' request for comment.

ST Group Food (SGX:DRX) said liquidators have issued their final notice and report to the creditors for the liquidation of GCTea 2B and GCTea 2A, according to a Wednesday filing to the Singapore stock exchange.The liquidators also plan to file the 'Notice of Final Account' before the dissolution.Last year, the company decided to liquidate GCTea 2B and GCTea 2A as part of its strategic plans to exit from the Gong Cha Brand in the United Kingdom.
