Japanese real estate developer Mitsui Fudosan (TYO:8801) will establish a development center in Kumamoto Prefecture for physical AI to support next-generation semiconductor technologies for robots, industrial equipment and automobiles, Nikkei Asia reported Monday.
The facility, opening Monday as part of the Kumamoto Science Park project, will feature a shared-use clean room for semiconductor assembly technology development, the report said.
Mitsui Fudosan expects Japanese semiconductor equipment and chemical makers, assembly contractors, universities and small and medium-sized technology firms to participate, while also seeking to bring together Taiwanese companies and research institutions, it said.
Mitsui Fudosan did not immediately respond to a request for comment from.
Shares of Mitsui Fudosan rose nearly 2% in recent trade.
