Market Chatter: Mitsui Fudosan to Build First European Rental Laboratory Facility in London

Japanese real estate company Mitsui Fudosan (TYO:8801) plans to build its first rental laboratory facility in Europe, valued at 1.1 billion pounds, as part of the British Library redevelopment project in London, Nikkei Asia reported Monday.

Construction of the 11-story building is expected to begin as early as September, with completion targeted for 2032, it said.

The building will include rental laboratories, library facilities, offices, and retail space. The facility aims to offer flexible research space for pharmaceutical firms, startups, and other companies without requiring them to build dedicated laboratories, the report said.

Mitsui Fudosan did not immediately respond to a request for comment from.
