Market Chatter: Meta, Roblox Agree to Child-Safety Measures in Philippines

Meta Platforms (META) and Roblox (RBLX) agreed to strengthen child-safety protections in the Philippines, including age verification, parental controls, faster removal of harmful content and closer cooperation with law enforcement, Reuters reported Thursday, citing Information and Communications Technology Secretary Henry Aguda.

The commitments were made during meetings between Philippine officials and executives from both companies in Singapore, the report said.

Roblox plans to open a Philippine office as early as October, while Meta will send a team to Manila to discuss expanding its presence, the report said.

Meta and Roblox did not immediately respond to requests for comment from.

Meta shares fell 1.2% in Thursday trading, and Roblox rose 1.8%.
