Meta Platforms (META) is strictly limiting the use of Anthropic's Claude code and OpenAI's Codex by its engineers in its applied AI engineering division, The Information reported Monday, citing internal guidelines it reviewed.
The internal guidelines, which are from May but remain in effect, according to a person familiar with the matter, demonstrate that Meta is concerned about inadvertently engaging in distillation, which could violate usage agreements for Claude and Codex, the report said.
Meta did not immediately reply to' request for comment.
