MediaTek (TPE:2454) reportedly secured a major role in Google's next-generation TPU v9 program after winning orders tied to a 336G SerDes solution, Commercial Times reported Tuesday, citing supply-chain sources.
The report said Google opted for a transitional 336G architecture after encountering challenges with a planned 448G SerDes design, creating an opportunity for MediaTek and reducing rival Broadcom's share of the project.
