Malaysia Semiconductor Industry Association President Wong Siew Hai expects growth in the country's electrical and electronics export market to continue in 2026, according to a Tuesday report.
In an interview with Bloomberg TV, the nation's chip industry chief said such exports could top 800 billion ringgit in the current year, up from 711 billion ringgit in 2025 and 601 billion ringgit in 2024.
Wong also said, according to the report, that local chip companies are "so far doing well" despite the impact of the ongoing war in Iran on costs for semiconductor manufacturing.
