LG Energy (KRX:373220) and Hyundai Motor (KRX:005380) are distancing themselves from lawsuits filed by South Korean workers against the U.S. government over a 2025 immigration raid at their joint Georgia battery plant, the Korea Times reported Thursday, citing officials.
Both automakers stressed they are not parties to the legal action. LG Energy noted the claims stem from individual worker decisions, while Hyundai clarified that none of its direct employees were detained as the affected workers were employed by partner firms, the report said.
