Japanese travel agency JTB plans to allocate 600 billion yen through 2035 to drive international expansion, as opportunities at home remain constrained, Nikkei Asia reported on Saturday, citing president Tomo Aomi.
The figure represents a fourfold increase over its 2015-2024 spending level, with M&A, intellectual property, real estate, AI, and talent identified as priority areas, the news agency said.
The company aims for its overseas operations to generate half its operating profit by the mid-2030s, backed by targeted acquisitions, the publication said.
