JPMorgan Chase's (JPM) Copthall Mauritius Investment had its India trading ban lifted after depositing 29.6 million rupees ($311,230) to comply with a Securities and Exchange Board of India order, Bloomberg reported Wednesday, citing people familiar with the matter.
Copthall and Mansi Share were accused by SEBI of manipulating Bombay Stock Exchange closing-auction trades to benefit their Sensex options positions, according to the report.
SEBI's probe will continue, with a confirmatory order expected after reviewing the entities' responses and holding hearings, Bloomberg added.
JPMorgan Chase did not immediately respond to' request for comment.
