Chinese automaker Jetour, a brand under Chery (HKG:9973), is exploring options to begin vehicle production in Brazil, Reuters reported, citing Henrique Sampaio, Jetour Brazil's marketing director.
Among the options under consideration is sharing manufacturing capacity with an automaker already operating in the country, following a model similar to Jetour's partnership with Nissan in South Africa, according to the report.
The company plans to invest $78 million in Brazil by the end of 2027, excluding any spending tied to local production, Reuters said.
