Ishihara Sangyo Kaisha (TYO:4028) plans to invest 3.9 billion yen to boost production of high-purity titanium dioxide for AI server components, Nikkei Asia reported Monday, citing the company's electronic materials division deputy manager.
The project, with new facilities in Mie prefecture operational by April 2030, is partly subsidized by the government and targets the growing demand for multilayer ceramic capacitors in data centers, the news daily said.
Currently holding about 80% of the global market for AI-server use, Ishihara already allocates over half its output to this sector, the report said.
