India's market regulator is considering easing disclosure requirements for certain offshore funds, Reuters reported Tuesday, citing three sources familiar with the matter.
The proposed changes follow complaints and legal challenges over rules introduced in 2023 after heightened scrutiny of the Adani Group, the report said.
The changes would give some funds more time to disclose investor details, raise the threshold for mandatory disclosures, and expand exemptions for funds regulated in additional jurisdictions, according to the report.
The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) did not immediately respond to' request for comment.
